Read this blog post and get a free magazine.

I subscribe to the ClickZ Email Marketing Newsletter, and generally look forward to digesting some new thinking when it arrives. As is often the case with content, it can be a bit tired and re-hashed on occasion (at least for someone who's been in the email space for a while now). This past Monday, at 10:30 am, I received my latest ClickZ issue and I have to say it was just flat out cool. Here's how it went down and follow how I, a guy with an inbox like you, interacted and connected with a little email marketing. In other words, how they got me. [More]

Can I send to an old list? (Part I)

Every once in a while, we have a customer who is either a new email marketer (what took you so long?) or they have discovered a new list of contacts in their database that bumps up the total number of email addresses they are planning to send to. Before you give your ESP (Email Service Provider) an ulcer and a headache by sending to those new people, let's talk about the implications of doing this and how you might approach this issue a little more effectively. A great email footer

I recently did a post on the anatomy of an email, where Lisa Harmon of Smith-Marmon summarized all the "chunks" that make up an email. Don't be afraid to use humor to get your subscribers to pay attention

So I'm from Boston (OK, I lied. New Hampshire technically). I love the Sox and I had some mixed feelings on news that Manny would no longer "be Manny". If you're unaware (seriously?), Manny Ramirez was traded to the West Coast Dodgers moments before the trade deadline passed recently and Red Sox nation is divided. So what's this have to do with email marketing? Follow me as I show you how a minor league baseball team (and yes, a SendLabs customer), used email marketing, the timing of current events, and a little humor to create more opens to their most recent email campaign. This was a cool piece put together by Lisa Harmon over at the Email Experience Council blog. Diving headlong into the world of email creative is tough if you don’t have all the lingo down. Here’s a handy cheat sheet for those who are still polishing their grasp on the glossa... [More]

A common sense statement for all email marketers...

I get very jealous of Seth Godin sometimes. He's like the Jerry Seinfield of marketers in that he makes obvious, observational statements but they are so true that it makes for great conversation. On his blog today, Big G has a simple statement to marketers sending out email: allow people to r... [More]
